Casa dei Bambini/Children’s House (3-6)
Our preschool Programme is for children aged approximately 3-6 years old.
It runs Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 am till 11:30 am or 1:30 pm.
Between the ages of 3 and 6, Maria Montessori called this environment „Casa dei Bambini“ (Children’s House, Rumah Anak-Anak).
Having created the foundations of their personality, three-year-old children arrive in the prepared environment ready to develop and perfect their abilities. They learn best through real-life activities that support independence and self-efficacy.
Montessori says, “Any child who is self‐sufficient, who can tie his shoes, dress or undress himself, reflects in his joy and sense of achievement the image of human dignity, which is derived from a sense of independence.”

The senses connect the child to experience and learn through the Prepared Environment. Montessori thus believes the development of the senses is vital to the child’s learning desire. Exercises and materials involving the sense of touch, sight, taste, hearing, and smell form part of the learning areas.
Montessori exposes the Casa child to working with the materials that lay the foundations for basic mathematical concepts , like basic mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
It also inspires the child to perceive geometric patterns and gradually learn to understand them in depth.
In our Casa, materials abound to engage the child in the development of Spoken Language, Writing and Reading skills.
We offer activities that reflect upon our human understanding of geography, history, biology, science, music, and the arts.
Two members of this expanded community of 3 to 6-year-olds thrive through opportunities to follow their own interest, freely choose their own activities, develop their capacity for concentration, and engage at their own pace their emerging powers of reason, imagination, and sociability.
