Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929.
Its mission is to support the natural development of human beings from birth to maturity, enabling children to become the transforming elements of society, leading to a harmonious and peaceful world.
AMI is recognized internationally as an authoritative voice regarding the unique nature of childhood, natural human development, and the rights of the child.
The course is open to anyone who has already completed an AMI Orientation 3-6 (or AMI Assistants Course). It offers those working or planning to work as a Montessori Assistant the opportunity to learn about practical approaches from online sessions and gain recognition for their practical experience as an assistant.
The AMI Assistants Adjunct is a 20-hour course and can only be facilitated onsite, face-to-face.

The AMI Assistant Course Adjunct Certificate is awarded to those who complete all the requirements. In order to receive the AMI Assistant Course Adjunct Certificate, the applicant should:
Students must have 90% attendance in order to receive the certificate.
Students with attendance below 90% will not be eligible for an AMI certificate.
Ms. Diwo Lhamo Pemba is an AMI Primary Trainer, born in Bhutan and now residing in the USA. She received her Primary Diploma from the Maria Montessori Training Center in London UK and her Assistants to Infancy Diploma from the Montessori Institute of Denver, Colorado, USA. Lhamo has been involved in the field of education for over 30 years. She has conducted the first-ever. AMI Montessori Diploma and Certificate Courses in Morocco, Egypt, Vietnam, and Mongolia. She has conducted several Certificate and Diploma Courses in the USA, Africa, and Asia. Lhamo is also the author of Tibetan Proverbs, a bilingual book in English and Tibetan.
What is AMI certification?
Association Montessori International (AMI) is a worldwide leading authority on Montessori education. Maria Montessori founded the association herself to further her work and AMI certified courses are hence known for their high quality and integrity with Montessori's work. They are respected and acknowledged worldwide and some schools accept teachers only with AMI certified education.
What certificate will I receive?
Participants who successfully complete the requirements for certification will earn the worldwide recognized AMI Montessori 3–6 Assistants Course Adjunct Certificate.
